Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM 2027) • Postgraduate Science Admissions
The Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM 2027) online application portal is now active for aspiring postgraduate students seeking admission to M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and post-bachelor degree programs at 21 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and IISc Bengaluru. In addition, JAM scores are utilized by NITs and CFTIs through CCMN counselling.
Eligible candidates can register through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) accessible at jam.iitd.ac.in. The nationwide computer-based test (CBT) will be administered in February 2027 across designated test cities in India.

7 Test Papers Offered in JAM 2027
The examination is conducted for seven distinct disciplines across two sessions (Morning and Afternoon):

Eligibility Criteria & Nationality
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree or must be appearing in their final year examination in 2027.
- Minimum Marks: Only proof of having passed the qualifying degree is required (no minimum aggregate threshold).
- Nationality: Open to Indian nationals and foreign nationals holding eligible degrees.
- Age Limit: There is no age restriction for appearing in JAM 2027.
Test Pattern & Structure (Total: 100 Marks)
The 3-hour Computer Based Test consists of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks divided into three sections:
- Section A: 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) – 10 questions of 1 mark and 20 questions of 2 marks (Negative marking applies).
- Section B: 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) carrying 2 marks each (No negative marking).
- Section C: 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions – 10 of 1 mark and 10 of 2 marks (No negative marking).
How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027
- Navigate to the official portal: jam.iitd.ac.in and access the JOAPS 2027 portal.
- Register as a new user by entering name, active email ID, mobile number, and password.
- Login and complete personal details, choice of examination cities, and test papers.
- Upload clear scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).
- Remit the online application fee via Net Banking / UPI / Credit Card / Debit Card.
- Download and print the completed application confirmation page for future reference.
