Mandatory Document Specifications
- DigiLocker Integration: Candidates can authenticate seamlessly via DigiLocker. However, official guidelines explicitly permit registration through non-DigiLocker routes using standard Government photo IDs (Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License).
- Passport Photograph: Must be a recent color photograph taken against a white background (size: 5 kB to 200 kB). The face must occupy 60% to 70% of the image area. No caps, sunglasses, or tinted lenses.
- Digital Signature: Must be signed in black or dark blue ink on white paper (size: 5 kB to 200 kB). Blurred or cropped signatures lead to rejection.
- Valid Photo ID: The original ID uploaded must be carried in person to the examination centre on the day of the test.
- Category / PwD Certificate: Scanned PDF of valid SC/ST/PwD/Dyslexic certificate if applicable (size: 10 kB to 500 kB).
Application Procedure on GOAPS
- Visit the official GATE 2027 portal at gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
- Create your login profile using your primary email ID and mobile number.
- Select your paper preference (candidates may apply for one or two designated two-paper combinations).
- Upload all formatted files (Photograph, Signature, Photo ID proof, and Category certificate).
- Pay the regular fee (₹900 for Female/SC/ST/PwD; ₹1,800 for all other candidates) and generate the confirmation application PDF.
