Notification Active: The Union Public Service Commission has officially opened the online application window for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE 2027). Eligible engineering graduates can submit their Common Application Forms on upsconline.nic.in up to 06 October 2026 (18:00 IST).

Eligible Engineering Streams
The examination recruits engineers across four technical branches:
- Category I — Civil Engineering: Central Water Engineering, Central Engineering Service, Border Roads Engineering Service, Survey of India, and Defence Naval Armament.
- Category II — Mechanical Engineering: Geological Survey of India Engineering Service, Central Electrical & Mechanical Service, Indian Naval Armament Service, and Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance.
- Category III — Electrical Engineering: Central Power Engineering Service, Defence Naval Material, and Central Electrical Engineering Service.
- Category IV — Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering: Indian Telecommunication Service, Junior Telecom Officer, and Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance.
Steps to Apply on upsconline.nic.in
- Visit upsconline.nic.in and complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if not already registered.
- Log in with your Email ID / Mobile Number and OTP / Password.
- Navigate to Latest Notifications → Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2027.
- Fill Part-I (personal details, engineering qualification, and service choices) and Part-II (fee payment, exam centre choice, and photo/signature upload).
- Pay the application fee of ₹200 (exempt for Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates) and print the final submitted application form.
