Important Points from the SSC Notice
- Challenges can be submitted online only. Representations sent in any other mode will not be considered.
- In the challenge module, the order of questions and options may be different from what you saw in the exam, because it is shown the same way for everyone in a shift. The answers you selected in the exam are shown exactly as you marked them.
- The question paper you save is only for personal use and self-analysis. An undertaking to this effect is part of the challenge portal.
- After 9:00 PM on 7 November 2026, response sheets and tentative keys will be taken down, and SSC will not entertain individual requests for them later. Save a copy now.
- Read the detailed guidelines for the Challenge/Objection Management System in SSC’s notice dated 10.04.2026.
How to Check the SSC CGL Answer Key and Response Sheet
- Go to ssc.gov.in.
- Log in with your Registration Number and Password.
- Open the CGL 2026 Tier-I answer key / challenge link shown in your account.
- Your response sheet opens with the tentative answer key. Save or print it before 9:00 PM on 7 November.
- To raise an objection, select the question, enter your reason, attach supporting proof if you have it, and pay ₹50 per question online.
How to Calculate Your Tier-I Score
In the CGL Tier-I pattern, each correct answer carries 2 marks and 0.50 mark is deducted for each wrong answer, for 100 questions and 200 marks in total. Use this formula: Raw score = (correct answers × 2) − (wrong answers × 0.5). Unattempted questions get zero. Since Tier-I ran in many shifts, SSC will normalise the marks, so your final score can differ a little from your raw score. Check the marking scheme in the CGL 2026 notice if you want to be sure.
What Happens After the Objection Window
SSC’s subject experts will review all challenges. If a challenge is accepted, the key is corrected for everyone in that shift. After that, SSC will publish the final answer key and the Tier-I result, and qualified candidates will be called for Tier-II. SSC will announce the Tier-II schedule on its website.
