Errors in the Certificate
If you find a spelling mistake or wrong detail, write to NTA at ecertificate@nta.ac.in or ugcnet@nta.ac.in with your application number, a copy of the certificate and proof of the correct detail. The NTA helpline number is 011-40759000.
Using Your Certificate
For JRF, approach a university or institution where you want to do research and complete the joining formalities within the validity period. For Assistant Professor posts, attach the e-certificate with applications to colleges and universities and with state service commission applications. The digitally signed e-certificate issued by NTA is the official document, so keep the original PDF safe along with its backups.
If You Did Not Qualify
UGC-NET is held twice a year, in June and December. Check your scorecard to see your marks in Paper 1 and Paper 2 and compare them with the cut-off of your subject and category. Paper 1 (teaching and research aptitude) is common to all subjects, so improving it helps in every attempt. Watch the NTA website for the December 2026 cycle notification.
