Cadres & Educational Eligibility
- Geologist Group ‘A’ (GSI): Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration.
- Geophysicist Group ‘A’ (GSI) & Scientist ‘B’ (CGWB): M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics.
- Chemist Group ‘A’ (GSI) & Scientist ‘B’ (Chemical): M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology) (CGWB): Master’s degree in Geology or applied Geology or Hydrogeology.
- Age Limit: 21 to 32 years as on 01 January 2027 (Relaxations as per Central Govt rules).
How to Apply Online on UPSC Portal
- Visit upsconline.nic.in and register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform.
- Log in and proceed to the Latest Notifications tab.
- Select Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027.
- Fill in educational credentials, post preferences, and exam center choice.
- Pay the Rs. 200/- fee (Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted).
- Submit and print the application form before 22 September 2026 (6:00 PM).
