Official Extension Notice: IGNOU has officially notified that the deadline for July 2026 session Fresh Admissions and Re-registration has been extended up to 15 September 2026 for all notified Master’s, Bachelor’s, and Diploma programmes offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online mode (excluding Certificate programmes).

Important Points for Applicants
- Certificate Programmes Excluded: The extension is NOT applicable to Semester-based Certificate programmes whose admissions closed earlier.
- Government Scholarship Benefits: SC/ST candidates are eligible for fee reimbursement schemes as per Government of India norms when applying for eligible academic programmes.
- Re-Registration: Existing students enrolled in multi-year undergraduate or postgraduate degrees must complete re-registration for the next semester/year on the Samarth Re-registration portal before 15 September.
How to Apply for Fresh Admission
- Visit the official IGNOU portal at ignou.ac.in and click on the July 2026 Admission link.
- Click on New Registration on the IGNOU Samarth portal.
- Fill in personal details, create a password, and verify via email/SMS OTP.
- Select your desired programme (ODL or Online) and choose your nearest Regional Centre and Study Centre.
- Upload scanned copies of educational certificates, photograph, signature, and category certificate.
- Pay the programme fee online and save the confirmation receipt.
