ICAI Branch In-Charge Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduate degree from a recognized University. The qualification must be from a University, deemed university or institution recognized by UGC, AICTE or the appropriate statutory authority.

Age Limit

The applicant must be between 27 and 40 years as on 30 June 2026.

Work Experience Rule

  • Only full-time post-qualification work experience will be counted.
  • Part-time work and freelancing will not be counted.
  • Articleship, internship or training completed as part of a qualification will not be counted.
  • Category I, II and III branches require at least 5 years of experience.
  • Category IV, V and VI branches require at least 3 years of experience.

  • Manage the administrative and operational functioning of the branch.
  • Coordinate with the Management Committee and stakeholders.
  • Handle member and student queries and grievances.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Office policies and procedures.
  • Supervise staff, allocate work and monitor performance.
  • Manage branch resources, budgets, records, reports and presentations.
  • Recommend measures for operational improvement and better service delivery.

ICAI Branch In-Charge Selection Process

  1. Computer Based Test: 425 marks, 180 minutes, English medium, with MCQ and descriptive components.
  2. CBT Qualifying Marks: Minimum 170 marks.
  3. Document Verification: Original certificates will be checked before the interview.
  4. Interview: Minimum qualifying marks are 30.
  5. Final Merit: Prepared using CBT and interview marks.
