IBPS SO 2026 Latest Update

IBPS released the CRP SPL-XVI recruitment notification for Specialist
Officer Scale-I posts in participating public sector banks. A
corrigendum and revised vacancy update was published on 20 July 2026.

The revised post-wise vacancy total is 1,035 posts.
Candidates who satisfy the post-specific qualification can complete
their application through the official IBPS registration portal.

Application Deadline:
Online registration, application editing and fee payment will close
on 21 July 2026. The separate correction window will
remain available for two days after registration closes, but its exact
dates will be announced separately by IBPS.

IBPS SO Post-Wise Educational Qualification

IT Officer Scale-I Four-year Engineering or Technology degree in Computer Science,
Computer Applications, Information Technology, Electronics,
Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics and
Communication or Electronics and Instrumentation; or a relevant
postgraduate degree; or DOEACC B Level qualification.
Agricultural Field Officer Scale-I Four-year degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry,
Veterinary Science, Dairy Science, Fishery Science,
Pisciculture, Forestry, Agricultural Biotechnology, Food
Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Sericulture, Fisheries
Engineering or another discipline specifically listed in the
official notification.
Rajbhasha Adhikari Scale-I Postgraduate degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the
graduation level; or postgraduate degree in Sanskrit with Hindi
and English as subjects at the graduation level.
Law Officer Scale-I Bachelor’s degree in Law and enrolment as an Advocate with the
Bar Council.
HR/Personnel Officer Scale-I Graduation with a full-time two-year postgraduate degree or
diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Human
Resources, HR Development, Social Work or Labour Law.
Marketing Officer Scale-I Graduation with a full-time two-year MMS Marketing, MBA
Marketing, PGDBA, PGDBM, PGPM or PGDM with specialization in
Marketing.
Candidates must possess the required qualification and final result by
the date prescribed in the official notification. Equivalent or
related qualifications should not be assumed unless specifically
accepted by IBPS.

IBPS SO Selection Process

  1. Online Preliminary Examination
  2. Online Main Examination
  3. Personal Interview
  4. Document Verification
  5. Provisional Allotment to a participating bank
  6. Medical and joining formalities conducted by the allotted bank

Candidates must qualify the Preliminary Examination to appear in the
Main Examination. Marks obtained in the Main Examination are used for
interview shortlisting and final merit.

The final combined score is prepared using
80% weightage for the Main Examination and
20% weightage for the Interview.

Objective tests carry negative marking. One-fourth or 0.25 of the
marks assigned to a question may be deducted for an incorrect answer.
