UPPSC Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2026

Short Information:
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has invited online applications for approximately 500 vacancies through the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services PCS Examination 2026. Graduate candidates can submit the online application up to 27 July 2026. The Preliminary Examination is proposed for 6 December 2026.

One Time Registration is compulsory. The notification directs candidates who do not have an OTR number to obtain it sufficiently before submitting the application. Applicants should not wait until the final hours.

Only posts for which departmental requisitions are received will be included. Additional graduate-level posts may be added before declaration of the Preliminary Examination result.

• Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university by the application closing date.
• Candidates awaiting the result of the required qualification are not eligible.
• Some posts have separate subject, postgraduate degree, B.Ed., experience or professional qualification requirements.
• Candidates will be considered for a post with special qualifications only when they possess and correctly claim the required qualification.

Salary varies according to the allotted post and department. The notification lists posts under pay ranges including:

• ₹9,300–₹34,800 with Grade Pay ₹4,200 or ₹4,600
• ₹15,600–₹39,100 with Grade Pay ₹5,400

Current salary, allowances and pay-matrix level will be governed by the applicable service and government rules for the selected post.

1. Preliminary Examination – Objective and qualifying for admission to Mains
2. Main Examination – Descriptive written examination
3. Interview – Personality Test or Viva-Voce
4. Document Verification and Medical Examination – As applicable to the allotted post

Approximately fifteen times the number of vacancies may be declared successful for the Main Examination and three times the number of vacancies may be called for interview.

• Both papers are objective multiple-choice papers answered on OMR sheets.
• Appearing in both papers is compulsory.
• Preliminary merit is determined from Paper I marks.
• Paper II requires a minimum of 33% marks.
• One-third or 0.33 of the assigned marks is deducted for each incorrect answer.
• No penalty is imposed for an unanswered question.
• Paper I timing: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
• Paper II timing: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

• SC and ST candidates: 35%
• Other categories: 40%
• CSAT Paper II: 33% qualifying marks

• PwD or Ex-Servicemen certificate, where applicable
• Recent photograph and signature linked with OTR
• Government-issued identity proof
• No Objection Certificate for government employees when required

1. Open the UPPSC notifications and advertisements page.
2. Complete One Time Registration and obtain the OTR number.
3. Open Advertisement Number A-1/E-1/2026.
4. Click the Apply option and authenticate using OTR number, OTP or OTR password.
5. Check personal details fetched from the OTR profile.
6. Enter the required educational and post-preference information.
7. Complete the address, reservation and qualification sections.
8. Preview the details and proceed to examination-fee payment.
9. Pay through SBI MOPS or the available online payment option.
10. Download the payment transaction slip.
11. Complete final submission and print the application form.
12. Keep the OTR, application form and fee receipt safely for future stages.

• OTR is mandatory for submitting the application.
• The application is treated as complete only after successful fee payment and final submission.
• Do not send the printed application or documents to the Commission at the Preliminary Examination application stage.
• Post-specific qualifications must be completed by the application closing date.
• Qualification details can generally be modified only once up to the notified correction deadline.
• Reservation and relaxation claims must be supported by valid certificates.
• Applicants from outside Uttar Pradesh cannot claim most UP reservation and age-relaxation benefits.
• The Commission may increase or decrease the vacancies.
• The proposed examination date may change in special circumstances.
