IIT Madras is the organising institute for GATE 2027. The official brochure was released on 20 July 2026 and the online application portal will open on 14 August 2026.

GATE 2027 will be conducted for 30 test papers. A new Robotics and Automation paper has been introduced and the syllabi and codes of some sectional papers have been revised.

A candidate currently studying in the third or higher year of an undergraduate degree programme, or one who has completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities, may apply.

What Is New in GATE 2027?

  • IIT Madras is the organising institute.

How to Fill GATE 2027 Online Form

  1. Open the official GATE 2027 website.
  2. Read the Information Brochure and eligibility criteria carefully.
  3. Click the GOAPS registration link after it becomes active on 14 August 2026.
  4. Register using your name, email address and mobile number.
  5. Create a password and note the generated enrolment ID.
  6. Enter personal, communication and educational details.
  7. Select one or two eligible test papers.
  8. Select three examination cities from the same GATE zone.
  9. Upload photograph, signature, photo ID and applicable certificates.
  10. Complete the live facial-detail verification.
  11. Pay the prescribed application fee online.
  12. Preview the complete form before final submission.
  13. Download and save the submitted application form.
